A former Plano Senior High School teacher was found guilty of sexual assault for engaging in an improper relationship over a two-month period with a 16-year-old student. It began over SnapChat and ended two years ago in McKinney when Alaina Danielle Ferguson, 25, was arrested by McKinney police.
Ferguson pled guilty to an improper relationship between educator and student and indecency with a child by exposure. Judge John Roach placed her on probation for 10 years and required her to pay an $800 fine and perform 150 hours of community service. She’s also prohibited from direct or indirect contact with the victim, and she must register as a sex offender for 10 years. Ferguson will also serve 120 days at the Collin County Jail for two weeks each year.
Ferguson was arrested Nov. 30, 2016, after rumors began circulating about a two-monthlong relationship between her and her then-16-year-old student. Detectives were alerted to the case through a Child Protective Services (CPS) referral.
